​Our Heritage . . .

• The Andrews Spouses’ Club has existed on Joint Base Andrews since the 1950’s.

 

• We have operated the base Thrift Shop for over 60 consecutive years, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for scholarships to military spouses and children, and supporting local, base and national organizations and charities. We also pay out over $100,000 annually in consignment checks to support our local military population financially. We are currently a registered 501©4 non-profit organization.

 

• As the former Officers’ Spouses’ Club we have provided a social network and a place to belong for officers’ spouses with monthly luncheons, fun programs and social interaction for over 50 years.

 

• We currently have members who are in their 90’s and have been in the Officers’ Spouses’ Club for over 40 years.

 

 

​Our Future . . .

•We are proud and pleased that we now offer the opportunity for all ranks of military spouses to integrate socially for the purpose of fun, philanthropy, cohesion, morale, support and resilience.

 

•While we used to meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month for a luncheon at The Courses Golf club, this year we will meet monthly at different venues, days and times for more varied activities, alternating between daytime and evening functions. You will see a couples' murder mystery dinner, European themed basket bingo, Luau-style scholarship reception, a vendor/craft fair, and other exciting programs. And don’t forget, we always have great door prizes!

 

•We still provide the opportunity for military spouses to engage in charitable fundraising that benefits the military community. Volunteers at the Thrift Shop are entitled to reimbursed babysitting, a higher percentage of consignment payout, and a first look at donated (not consigned) items.

 

•With an expanded membership we will be offering Special Activities groups aside from monthly luncheons such an international group, creative (crafts) group, fitness and sports related group, or anything else our members want to organize and lead.
